About Gary K. Yamamoto

Gary specializes in guiding people in their professional and personal development, which includes interpreting their dreams. Gary is an electrical engineer, business owner, author, professional speaker, ordained priest, and consultant who has been speaking, teaching, and consulting for over 30 years. Additionally, he is not the bass fishing expert.

Buddhism

Gary was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and was raised a Buddhist. When his grandmother passed away, he wanted to become a Buddhist priest. Unfortunately, his Japanese was not good enough to go to Japan to study Buddhism. Buddhism is taught in the language of the Buddha, sanskrit. So he decided to focus on education and graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in electrical engineering.

Electrical Engineer

It was in college that Gary discovered that he could use his dreams to solve engineering and math problems. When he started to work as an engineer, he found that he could use his dreams to solve real- life problems. That kept his interested in dreams. After graduation, Gary spent 22 years as a civil servant for the US Government. As a Communication engineer, Gary designed and tested complex systems throughout the Pacific Rim countries, from Adak, Alaska to Antarctica. As a nuclear weapons engineer, Gary was the reliability and vulnerability engineer for the Polaris, Poseidon, and Trident warheads on nuclear submarines.

Publishing, Religion, and Business

He was also the CEO of a trade book publishing company and has been a faculty member at the University of Arizona. Gary’s spiritual training extends from Buddhism, Hinduism, and Catholicism where he was ordained a Catholic Priest. He is co-owner of a successful speakers bureau and he has been speaking full time to corporations and trade associations on performance and productivity topics. He has been sharing his knowledge on personal development, including dreams, for over 40 years.

Dream Interpretation

Gary has used his dreams to help him in all his careers, as an professional speaker, author, engineer, entrepreneur, business owner, and consultant. In the early 1970s, he began working with other professionals and created the method he now uses to interpret people's dreams. When Gary used to give a dream presentation at Canyon Ranch, he would always ask people the following question. "How many of you pay attention to your dreams and have gotten insights or solutions from your dreams?" The usual response was about 80%. When he asked the same question to a general public audience, the response varied between 20- 40%. Now the people who can afford to stay at Canyon Ranch are usually very well off. If they are paying attention to their dreams, perhaps you should too. It is important to remember that your dreams have only one client-you! It has only one purpose-to help you succeed.

Gary rarely gives personal consultations to individuals. The reason is simple--the different pathways each person has travelled in their lives will change the meaning of each dream. Another reason is Gary is developing programs to help individuals to become their own guide in their personal growth and spiritual development. This he believes will help anyone who is interested in removing the limitations that are holding them back and excel in whatever field they desire.
